The french daily newspaper "Le Figaro" publishes an article on the situation of Pinna nobilis in the Mediterranean. Journalist Stéphany Gardier writes about the importance of this species and the mass mortality events that has suffered since 2016. She puts the focus on the two european projects working to save the fan mussel from extinction, Life Pinna and Life Pinnarca. From this project, Mathieu Foulquié, member of the Oceanographic Institute Paul Ricard, makes some declarations about the fragile situation of the remaining populations and the efforts that are being made to understand the phenomenon and put it an end.
